On August 4th, 2009 at 2:11am, Wayland Police responded to a report of vandalism in progress in the vicinity of Woodridge Road and Country Corners Road. Officers discovered that at least twenty-one mailboxes had been damaged, most likely by being struck with a baseball bat or similar object.  Due to the extent of the vandalism spree, it is believed that the acts were perpetrated by several people in a vehicle.   Mailboxes on Woodridge Road, Country Corners Road, Rice Road and Pequot Road were damaged. Officers checked the area, however, they were unable to locate any suspects.

Police ask residents to quickly report any observations of vandalism in progress and provide, as best as possible, a description and direction of travel of any vehicle involved.   In most cases such as this, it is unlikely to identify those responsible, unless they are caught in the act or fleeing from the area.
