Preview of Board of Selectmen Meeting, June 15

The Board of Selectmen will meet Monday (June 15) evening in Town Building.

Three candidates to fill a vacancy on the Finance Committee will interview.  Paul Grasso, Tom Greenaway, and Seth Roman will respond to questions at 7:15 p.m.  Immediately following, members of the Zoning Board of Appeals and the Historic District Commission whose terms expire June 30th will interview seeking reappointment to another a three-year term.

Members of the Electronic Communication Committee will review the recommendations included in their final report that was presented to Annual Town Meeting in April.  Selectmen will discuss priorities related to the Town website and identify short-term changes and long-term projects so planning can begin now for inclusion in the FY11 budget.

The Board will continue an earlier discussion on potential format of the proposed State of the Town meeting tentatively scheduled for September 24th.  League of Womens Voters had offered to play a role in the forum and board members wanted to review possible topics and formats.

Lastly, the Board will hear an update from Town Administrator Fred Turkington on the proposed administrative consent order received from DEP regarding closure of the Septage Facility.  The septage committee will meet June 16th with counsel to offer a recommendation on language changes that may be negotiated and report to the selectmen on June 22nd.

The meeting begins at 7:00 p.m. in the Selectmen’s Meeting Room.
