Donald Ouellette appointed Director of Public Works

DPW Director appointment

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Donald Ouellette as Director of Public Works.  Mr. Ouellette has more than 29 years of civil engineering and management experience.  He served in the US Army from 1983 to 1993 as an engineer at Fort Campbell, KY, Frankfort, Germany, and Fort Devens, MA.  He received a Bronze Star for his efforts in Kuwait in 1991 where he led the team that restored potable water to the capital during Desert Storm.  Upon leaving the military, Don was Superintendent of the Town of Ayer DPW, City Engineer of the City of Nashua, NH and the City of Medford, MA, and most recently, City Engineer and DPW chief for the Town of Ashburnham, MA.  He also served a project manager for the construction of 25,000 GPD sewage treatment facility and 12 miles of sewer mains for the Town of Acton, MA.  Mr. Ouellette earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Maine, Orono in 1980 and a Master’s of Science in Engineering Management from Western New England College in Springfield, MA in 1992.  He has been a licensed professional engineer in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire since 1988.

Mr. Ouellette will assume his duties on Monday, June 15th.  We expect to have him spend about five days during the interim period meeting staff, being introduced to town boards and commissions, and getting acquainted with our facilities, equipment and challenges.
