Uncontested Candidates for Park & Recreation in April 2007 Elections

Note:  this page is not complete.  Statements are not available from all candidates.  Not information is available even for those candidates who have written statements.

Phyllis Thomason Robert Virzi
Candidate Statement:

Wayland has been my home on and off since 1962 and I have witnessed the growth and development of the town through the years.  The Park and Rec Department has increased its involvement with the residents by increasing opportunities for activities for every age group, in addition to its oversight of the physical environment of the town.  My family has had the opportunity to enjoy many of the services offered by the Park & Rec Department, from classes and sports for toddlers and youth to use of the Town Beach and the pool to enjoying the beauty of the natural surroundings that the department manages.

I am seeking this position not with any predetermined agenda, but with two purposes in mind.  I would like to give back to the town by serving in a volunteer position and I would like to help enable the Park and Rec Department to continue to enhance the lives of Wayland residents with a variety of programs and offerings to entice people to benefit from the opportunity to participate with their fellow townspeople in communal activities and growth.

Thank you for considering me for this position.
