DPW Meeting Schedule

The Board of Selectmen has submitted the DPW article that was passed over at the November STM for consideration at the April 10, 2008 Annual Town Meeting. As was stated at that time, the Board is committed to engaging impacted boards and commissions regarding their concerns about the article as currently drafted. To that end, the selectmen have set aside time on several agenda during the next two months to meet with members of the boards and commissions, to review comparative data from studied municipalities, to review areas of potential cost savings, and to consider potential staffing models. The draft schedule appears below. Please consult with the weekly Board of Selectmen agenda posted on the website or at Town Building for specific time DPW issues will be discussed each week and for adjustments to the draft schedule.
 

January 7: 

  • Board of Selectmen to review/discuss matrix depicting personnel, budgets, equipment and tasks of entities comprising DPW


January 14: 

  • Board of Selectmen to review and discuss current organizational structure and process/timeframe for achieving ideal/goal organizational structure
  • Meet with Septage Committee and WWMDC

January 22

  • Meet with Park & Recreation Commission

February 4

  • Meet with Board of Road Commissioners, Board of Water Commissioners


February 11

  • Board of Selectmen to review and discuss areas and range of potential savings (FinComm to be present)


A dedicated public comment and Q & A session will be scheduled by the Board of Selectmen.
