Wayland Community Emergency Response Team
Federal CERT Training Program
Winter/Spring 2007
The Wayland Community Emergency Response Team has several openings for new volunteers. To qualify for full participation in CERT, members are required to take a short training program that was developed by FEMA and the Wayland police and fire departments. The following is the current training schedule for new CERT volunteers:
All sessions will be at the Wayland Public Safety Building Training Room (PSB) with the exception of March 13th , which will be held at Fire Station 2. A class might be re-scheduled or moved if circumstances dictate. Make up classes may be accommodated. Certain volunteers may have skills and training that could exempt them from certain classes.
Tuesday, February 27 - 6:00 pm – 9:30 pm Introduction to Disaster
Wednesday, March 7 - 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm Search & Rescue -- Fire
Tuesday, March 13 - 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm Fire Safety
Monday, March 19 - 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm Terrorism
Wednesday, March 21 - 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm Search & Rescue -- Police (Tentative)
Wednesday, March 28 - 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm Medical Response Operations
Date to be determined – Disaster Psychology
Wednesday, April 11 - 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm CERT & Integrated Command System
Saturday, April 14 - 9:00 am – 12:00 pm Final & Certification
